Who are we?

Xatori is a Palo Alto-based technology company focused on the intersection of electric vehicles (EVs), mobile apps, and the smart grid. The name is derived from the word Satori, a Japanese Buddhist term for enlightenment.

We offer a number of innovative solutions for EV owners, manufacturers and service providers. The members of our team have built solar cars that race across continents, electric motorcycles that go 160mph, and mobile apps that are used by millions of people every day. We believe technology can solve our world’s problems.

Our first product, PlugShare, was launched in March of 2011 and has since gained tens of thousands of loyal users. PlugShare is a cause-based social network that allows users to find charging stations and connect with other EV enthusiasts. This crowd-sourcing of the electricity grid has made PlugShare the nation’s largest electric vehicle charging network with over 5,000 public and private charging locations.

We are in the early years of mass-market EV adoption. Over 20 OEMs are releasing an electric vehicle within the next two years, with most analysts predicting over 1 million EVs on the road by 2015. By embracing the EV revolution, we can expand grid accessibility and lessen our dependence on fossil fuels.
